Katachi

Japanese craft tradition meets Scandinavian refinement

The Meaning of Katachi

Katachi has no direct English translation. It conveys a design sensibility rooted in reverence for nature and hand craftsmanship—the relationship between materials and form, subtlety over ostentation.

This collection draws from traditional Japanese wooden houses and modern Scandinavian furniture and architecture, designed for Dutch Made Custom Cabinetry by Scott A. Stultz.

The result is furniture-grade frameless cabinetry with freestanding pieces available—versatile enough to suit styles from Japanese minimalism to Arts and Crafts tradition.

Two Door Styles

Kitachi I

Square-edged stiles with set-back rail faces. Top rails are square at the panel interface; bottom rails feature a sloped panel bead that provides a smooth transition rather than a harsh edge.

Kitachi II

Quarter-elliptical stiles create a softer profile. Top and bottom rails are set back, intersecting the curved stile faces for an elegant, sculptural appearance.
